The Brock Osweiler era is off to a great start for the Denver Broncos.

Denver snapped its two-game losing streak with a 17-15 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The Broncos defense revived itself to hold Jay Cutler without a touchdown pass and did enough to get Osweiler his first career win.

If there’s a team with more questions than answers in terms of future fantasy production, it’s the Broncos, especially at the quarterback position.

Let’s talk about that.

Brock Osweiler

If Osweiler continues to play like this, the starting job is his.

There was much to like about how he played in the first start of his four-year career. The 25-year-old completed an impressive 74 percent of his passes. He threw for 250 yards on 20 completions—12.5 yards per completion—and threw two touchdowns.

That’s already more than what Peyton Manning has done this year.

Osweiler has the hot hand right now. If he’s the quarterback for the immediate Denver future, there’s no reason to think he won’t be starting in the playoffs. He dissected a very good Chicago pass defense, which ranks fourth in the league in pass yards allowed.

Next week will prove an even bigger test for Osweiler as he goes against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots at Mile High. After that are three games against the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers, all with questionable defenses.

If you’re in need of a quarterback option to prepare you for a playoff push, Osweiler is your guy. As long as he’s not throwing interceptions and is efficient throwing the football like he was on Sunday, the Broncos will be in good shape and so will your fantasy team.

Demaryius Thomas

It’s going to take a little time before Osweiler develops a consistent connection with Demaryius Thomas, as evidenced by the eight targets thrown the 27-year-old’s way on Sunday.

There are plenty of positives to take away from Thomas’ three-catch performance. First and foremost, Osweiler understands who his No. 1 target is and will not hesitate to get the ball to him. Second, Thomas finally found the end zone for the first time since Week 3.

The same goes for Osweiler as it does Thomas. For as long as the QB limits his mistakes and continues to create a solid rhythm with Thomas, not only will Thomas’ yards and catches go up, but he’ll find the end zone more than two times through 10 games.

Thomas has been a model of consistency as far as catches are concerned, but Manning’s limitations and turnovers kept Denver’s top receiver out of the end zone for the better part of two months.

If you’ve been hesitant of keeping Thomas in your lineup because of his lack of touchdowns, you won’t need to worry about that if Osweiler remains under center.

Vernon Davis

It hasn’t taken long for Vernon Davis to make his presence felt in the Denver passing game.

He had his best game of the year against the Bears, catching six passes for 68 yards. Davis was held out of the end zone once again and hasn’t scored a touchdown all year, but Osweiler understood that the 31-year-old is a reliable veteran when the ball is thrown his way.

Asking Davis to show flashes of his old self may be too much, considering all of the weapons the Broncos have at their disposal. Even 23-year-old receiver Cody Latimer scored a touchdown on Sunday in relief of Emmanuel Sanders. When the Broncos have a healthy quarterback, good things happen.

Also, as I’ve said all year, tight ends are scarce. Get them when you can. This might be a time for Davis to have more passes thrown his way. It’s crucial for Denver to get a tight end involved, as it takes the pressure off the outside receivers.

Davis’ athleticism makes him a dangerous threat. Start looking for Osweiler to use him more in the short/intermediate route game. That will get Davis more catches, which will get you more fantasy points.

If you’re in need of a reliable tight end, Davis would be a good waiver-wire pickup.
