InjuryExpected to be limited in practice to begin Week 9

On a third-down play with a little more than five minutes to play in Sunday’s game against the Jets, Falcons QB Matt Ryan tried a pass to RB Devonta Freeman that went incomplete. Per multiple reports from his press conference, Quinn confirmed Freeman was getting his shoulder checked out and said that the running back is expected to be limited in Wednesday’s practice. Nerdy Football Analysis: This doesn’t appear to be a serious injury, so owners can pencil him into their lineups for Week 9 for now. Of greater concern for owners is the fact he is seeing 11 carries per game and has been held out of the end zone in every game since the Week 5 bye after averaging 17.5 carries and scoring in every game before it. Business should start picking up soon, but owners need to consider him a RB2 until Atlanta gets its sputtering offense back on track.
