Injury RB still hopeful he’ll play in Week 10 after “minor aggravation”

Giants RB Devonta Freeman suffered what was described as a minor aggravation of his ankle injury today, source said. That cut short his practice. His hope is still to play Sunday. (NFL Network – Ian Rapoport)

Nerdy Football Analysis: Freeman was handling roughly 20 touches in each of the last two full games he played before getting hurt in Week 7. Wayne Gallman has filled in about as well as anyone could have expected in a bad offense, but it is unclear if he’s done enough to force a committee. With the Giants going on a bye next week and having little to play for, they may decide to exercise caution and hold out Freeman for one more game.
