Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders Fantasy Outlook After Trevor Siemian's Injury

The new looks under center continue for the Denver Broncos after Mike Klis of 9News.com reported Saturday that rookie Paxton Lynch will start in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

For fantasy football players who own Denver’s top wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, that means more uncertainty is on the way.

Playing with former seventh-round pick and Northwestern alumnus Trevor Siemian through the first three-plus weeks of the season, Thomas and Sanders are tied for 10th among all wide receivers with 44 fantasy points, per ESPN.com

Lynch was forced into action last week after Siemian suffered a sprain to his non-throwing shoulder that forced him to leave the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and sideline him for Week 5.

But upon his arrival, which was also his NFL debut, Lynch looked like he had built up some chemistry with Thomas and Sanders:

Sanders, who is more of a slot option with his speed, provided quick completion opportunities for Lynch, who went 14-of-24 for 170 yards and a touchdown.

While 10 of those completions went to either Sanders or Thomas, the former was the one who caught Lynch’s first touchdown pass, via the NFL:

Playing against a Falcons pass defense that is ranked 31st in the league, expect the Broncos to try to take advantage of a weak secondary. That means plenty of targets for Sanders and Thomas, along with a green light for fantasy owners to start them Sunday.
