Ankle and knee injuries
49ers’ HC Kyle Shanahan told reporters that he expects WR Deebo Samuel to return from his knee and ankle injuries in around three weeks. (ESPN – Adam Schefter)
Nerdy Football Analysis: It would not be a surprise if the 49ers end up giving Samuel the rest of the regular season to heal up so he can be in good health for the NFL postseason. In his absence, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle should be more involved in the passing game in Samuel’s absence, which should also free up about five or six targets per game for Jauan Jennings. Fantasy managers in dire need of a roster space can probably drop Samuel, although such a move comes with some risk.
