Damien Williams will be new lead back for Bears
Dan Graziano (@DanGrazianoESPN) on Twitter: “Per source, tests showed Bears RB David Montgomery has a knee sprain that’s expected to keep him out 4-5 weeks. Not season-ending, but Bears will be without their starting RB for a while.”
This means that Damien Williams, who has a bruised thigh but isn’t in doubt to play Week 5, will shoulder most of the RB duties in Montgomery’s stead. (Twitter/ESPN)
Nerdy Football Analysis: After Montgomery and Damien Williams it’s just rookie Khalil Herbert and Tarik Cohen, who’s on IR. The Bears could add another live body for practice reps and possible Week 5 activation, but there’s no word on when Cohen will be activated.
