Left ankle sprain
Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp will miss “an extended period of time” with a left ankle sprain, coach Sean McVay said on Monday.
Kupp left the Rams’ 41-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday with the injury. He is a candidate for injured reserve, McVay said, which is a decision the head coach said the team expects to make either Monday or Tuesday. (ESPN.com – Sarah Barshop)
Nerdy Football Analysis: The Rams likely win the award for the most injury-ravaged team through two weeks. Los Angeles already has two offensive linemen on IR and are expected to put another there this week, joining Puka Nacua (knee). Because the Rams’ bye week is Week 6, the earliest Kupp could return from IR is Week 8 (assuming he is placed there). Without Kupp and Nacua, Matthew Stafford will be forced to rely heavily on Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington.
