Clarity coming soon to Baltimore backfield?

No back has seemingly separated himself from the pack yet

Halfway through the preseason, the Baltimore Ravens have yet to make any decisions on how they’re handling their crowded running-back group. Will the Ravens go with a running back by committee? Will they rely on a featured back? Or will they simply go with the hot runner from week to week?

“The next couple of weeks will give us a better idea,” offensive coordinator Marc Trestman said.

The end result could be Justin Forsett gets the start, Javorius Allen and Kenneth Dixon become third-down backs, and Terrance West turns into the power back in the red zone. But the Ravens are still trying to figure out their plan going forward. (ESPN)

Nerdy Football Analysis: Trestman has a long track record of generating exceptional fantasy production from his running backs because of his desire to involve the position in the passing game. With that said, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of clarity in Baltimore. Forsett will almost certainly get the first crack, but there is probably just as much likelihood of a committee or hot-hand situation as there is of a player like Dixon becoming the lead back by midseason. As a result, all four are late-round fliers at best in most leagues.
