Out for the season
Washington Redskins running back Chris Thompson broke his right fibula late in the third quarter Sunday against the Saints and was carted off the field. (ESPN)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Thompson was the Redskins leading rusher and receiver heading into the game. His absence will be sorely missed by a team struggling to get production from its wide receivers. Samaje Perine handled his biggest workload of the season (23 carries) and will be the feature back moving forward.
