InjuryTorn meniscus and sprained MCL

Charles Clay has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus and sprained MCL. He had surgery to repair the injury on Monday and coach Sean McDermott told the media that he anticipates being without Clay for multiple weeks. (Pro Football Talk)

Nerdy Football Analysis: Clay had emerged as the top playmaker in an otherwise lackluster Bills’ passing game and was one of the few reliable fantasy tight ends thus far, so this one hurts. Nick O’Leary stepped up with five catches for a team-high 54 yards in his absence in Week 5 and will be worth consideration for the many owners desperate for production from their tight end. The Bills have a bye in Week 6 and O’Leary doesn’t have a particularly good matchup in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
