Carlos Hyde likely out again this week

Before the 49ers practiced on Wednesday, coach Jim Tomsula told reporters that running back Carlos Hyde would take part after missing the team’s last two games with a stress fracture in his left foot. While you’d imagine the coach has a direct line to the team’s medical staff, Tomsula’s information proved to be incorrect. Hyde didn’t practice on Wednesday and he remained out of practice on Thursday, which makes it hard to imagine that he’ll be in the lineup against the Seahawks even if the coach were to say that Hyde will be taking handoffs from Blaine Gabbert. Nerdy Football Analysis: In Hyde’s absence, journeyman backup and practice squad member Shaun Draughn will likely see the bulk of the carries again this week, after registering 96 total yards from scrimmage in his last appearance. He’s a borderline low-end RB2/flex play this week.
