RB coach hints at young RBs splitting carries
With Cam Akers now healthy and catching up on reps during the week, it’s likely we’ll see more of him during the latter stretch of the season, and it would not be surprising to see his carries start to draw closer to those of Darrell Henderson. (The Athletic – Jourdan Rodrigue)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Many fantasy owners lost patience with Akers shortly after he missed two games with a rib injury, but he wasn’t even close to being ready for at least another two weeks after that. Now that he’s had a few weeks of full practice reps, he is apparently ready to fulfill the promise the Rams had for him when they drafted him in the second round. The lead runner in this backfield will have low-end RB1 potential most weeks, but there may be no rhyme or reason to figuring out which back it will be. For that reason, Anderson, Akers and Malcolm Brown should be considered high-end flex plays most weeks.
