Agent: “This is the biggest cry for help I’ve ever seen”

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant is accepting a one-year suspension for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy for multiple new violations following a previous suspension from the league, according to league sources.

Bryant had originally planned to appeal the suspension, but instead will start serving the suspension, which will span an entire calendar year under NFL rules governing suspended players.

Nerdy Football Analysis: Bryant was suspended four games last season and reportedly missed multiple tests. According to one of Bryant’s agents, the Steelers wide receiver is suffering from depression. Bryant’s No.2 receiving role will likely be filled by Markus Wheaton with Darrius Heyward-Bey and Sammie Coates also in the mix. Wheaton will have the highest fantasy value of the three receivers.
