Blake Bortles, Denard Robinson, Allen Hurns' Post-Week 14 Fantasy Advice

Fantasy Football
December 13, 2015

The Jacksonville Jaguars exploded for 42 points in the second half of Sunday’s 51-16 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Week 14 was indeed a fruitful affair for numerous fortunate fantasy owners who started Jags players. Quarterback Blake Bortles racked up four total touchdowns. Allen Hurns was on the receiving end of the first one, which went for 80 yards.

Even when rookie running back T.J. Yeldon left the game, Denard Robinson picked up the slack in the rushing attack.

Below are final numbers for Bortles, Robinson and Hurns along with individual fantasy advice for each member of the featured trio.

Blake Bortles

A slow first half preceded the floodgates opening for the second-year signal-caller, who swung the game with his long score to Hurns.

With typical top target Allen Robinson a non-factor, Bortles showed a willingness to spread the ball elsewhere. Whether that’s a testament to his progress or the incredible job Jacksonville has done to strengthen his supporting cast is unclear.

There’s no denying Bortles has made a huge leap in 2015 and should be an every-week fantasy starter at this point. With plenty of room to improve his accuracy, owners in keeper formats especially should cling to Bortles for the foreseeable future.

Denard Robinson

The Jaguars announced Yeldon suffered a sprained knee Sunday, so Robinson holds a lot of value moving forward as the presumptive feature back.

Amid the heat of the fantasy playoffs, Robinson is bound to be the hottest waiver-wire pickup of Week 15. Whether Jacksonville plays from behind down the stretch or is firing on all cylinders, there’s reason to believe in the explosive 25-year-old.

Robinson has more big-play capability than Yeldon because of his immense burst and long speed. Daily fantasy owners should pounce on the chance to land Robinson for what should be among the best bargain prices on the market.

Allen Hurns

After missing Week 13’s shootout against the Tennessee Titans, Hurns was back in fine fashion. Other than the TD, though, he didn’t do much to alter his fantasy forecast.

The story was similar as it has been throughout Hurns’ 2015 campaign. He has a ton of upside and has the combination of size (6’3″, 205 lbs) and finesse to be a WR1. Allen Robinson’s presence will always slightly hinder his ceiling, though.

Credit Hurns for providing the spark play the Jags needed—and also for notching his eighth trip to the end zone in 12 games. He’s well on his way to a 1,000-yard season and only figures to improve.

Robinson will draw the attention of Atlanta Falcons star cornerback Desmond Trufant in Week 15, which may make the circumstances ripe for Hurns’ best showing of the year.
