InjuryMcCarron injures shoulder

Buffalo Bills quarterback AJ McCarron suffered a hairline fracture in his collarbone in Friday night’s preseason game against the Cleveland Browns, The Buffalo News has learned. McCarron, who was competing for the starting job with rookie Josh Allen and Nathan Peterman, started the game and was hit multiple times in the first quarter. McDermott declined to address the quarterback rotation. “With respect to the quarterback questions, we’ll evaluate the tape.” (Buffalo News)

Nerdy Football Analysis: With McCarron likely to be sidelined multiple weeks with his shoulder injury the competition comes down to rookie Josh Allen and Nathan Peterman. While Allen seems like the obvious choice to many, head coach McDermott will likely wait until after the third pre-season game to make an announcement. Expect both QBs to get extensive playing time against the next week against the Bengals.
