Chargers TE could miss second straight week
For a second straight week, tight end Antonio Gates did not practice. However, Gates has been listed as questionable for Sunday. Chargers coach Mike McCoy said that even though Gates did not practice, he knows the offense well enough and could play if trainers give the veteran tight end the green light on Sunday. (ESPN)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Two straight weeks without practicing suggests Gates won’t be in the lineup this week. Ladarius Green has proven to be a reliable starter in Gates’ absence, and is worth a start this week. He has touchdowns in each of his past two games, and a total of four on the season.
