The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not have wide receiver Antonio Brown for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game at the Green Bay Packers, coach Bruce Arians announced Friday.
“I just talked to him this morning, and to put him on the plane and fly up there and have it swell more doesn’t make any sense,” Arians said. “He wasn’t as close as we’d hoped, so we’ll get him ready for the next one.” (ESPN)
Nerdy Football Analysis: AB missed practice this week after injuring his knee in the Divisional Round against the Saints. In his absence the Saints will lean on Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Scotty Miller and rookie Tyler Johnson at the receiver position. Evans and Godwin should be the primary targets. Note that tight end Cameron Brate has out-targeted Rob Gronkowski 11 to 6 during the playoffs.
