Carted off the field in Week 11
Aaron Jones appears to have avoided long-term injury after he was carted to the locker room just before halftime, but it certainly doesn’t look like he’ll be available Thursday for the Thanksgiving clash in Detroit.
Said coach Matt LaFleur after Sunday’s game, “I don’t think it’s long-term. It certainly looked bad. I was really concerned. Just seeing it live, I didn’t see a replay or anything, but seeing it live, it did not look good. But he’s in good spirits in there, so hopefully it’s a short-term thing.” (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)
Nerdy Football Analysis: The Packers also lost Emanuel Wilson on Sunday, leaving AJ Dillon as the only healthy back on the roster. Jones will almost certainly be ruled out on a short week and is a good bet to miss Week 13 as well. Assuming that is the case, Dillon will be poised to handle a feature-back workload against a Detroit defense that has done a good job of stuffing runners most of the year. As such, Dillon projects as a low-upside RB2 this week who will likely need to score a touchdown to be a good fantasy start.
