$11.9 million salary becomes guaranteed April 1st

Nerdy Football Analysis: Kaepernick trade rumors have been running rampant for weeks now along side reports that the 49ers plan on keeping the 28 year-old quarterback. His 2016 salary becomes guaranteed on Friday and it appears that 49ers have no plans to release him today. The QB needy Broncos have interest in a trade, but want Kaepernick at a reduced salary. Even though he wants out, Kaepernick may be sticking with Chip Kelly in San Francisco in 2016.
