One of the more difficult things to accomplish in GPPs is finding cheap value that won’t be owned by most of the public and pro players. On slates where there is a plethora of expensive and punt value, expect to see a lot of “stars and scrubs” lineups in both cash and GPP. This strategy is a difficult one to combat in cash games, since it will generally project the highest median values of all combinations of players available, and most of the players in stars and scrubs lineups will be fairly safe bets to hit their minutes projections. Facing this strategy will be common in GPP, especially in small fields or any field where the pro player to public player ratio is much higher, therefore you can expect to find more lineups sorted efficiently where both the best high $ and low $ players are being used by a large percentage of the population. If we are trying a contrarian style, we will have to sacrifice some median EV of our lineup in order to gain an advantage in contrarian plays.
