InjuryPanther WR left early in Week 3

#Panthers coach Ron Rivera confirms WR Kelvin Benjamin’s MRI on his knee showed no structural damage. Good news. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Nerdy Football Analysis: Benjamin finished Sunday with 2 catches for 8 yards after leaving in the first quarter with a knee injury. While no structural damage is good news, Benjamin could still miss some time depending on the diagnosis. We should know more about his availability for Week 4 later in the week.

NFL Network: Elliott likely to play Week 1

If ruling delays past 4 p.m. today, Zeke will play Sunday night

NFL Network on Twitter: “If Ezekiel Elliott is still on the roster by Tuesday at 3pm Dallas time, he will be eligible to play in the opener.” (Twitter)

Nerdy Football Analysis: This is via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who reported that Elliott will play Week 1 if NFL arbitrator Harold Henderson does not hand down a decision before 4 PM EST on Tuesday. It’s not a 100 percent sure thing he’s a go for the opener, but it’s looking more and more like a probability.

Willie Snead gets 3-game suspension

Violating NFL policy on substances of abuse

#Saints WR Willie Snead is suspended 3 games for violating NFL policy on substances of abuse, per @NFL. It was reduced from 4 (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Nerdy Football Analysis: This would explain why Ted Ginn Jr. has been running and operating as the No.2 wide receiver during portions of the pre-season. Snead’s fantasy value takes a hit, but he will likely come at a bargain in drafts moving forward. Ginn and Coby Fleener get slight bumps.

Seattle lands DL Sheldon Richardson

The Seattle Seahawks’ terrifying defense just hit the upgrade button.

The Seahawks acquired defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson from the New York Jets in exchange for receiver Jermaine Kearse and a 2018 second-round pick, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported, per sources informed of the pact. The teams also swapped seventh-round selections in the deal. (NFL.com)

Nerdy Football Analysis: The Jets bolstered(?) their amazingly thin receiving corps with Kearse who should have a good chance at steady playing time. That being said, his fantasy value remains minimal given the sorry state of the Jets offense. Tyler Lockett Paul Richardson and Kasen Williams move up the depth chart in Seattle behind Doug Baldwin.

InjuryWill miss entire 2017 season

New England’s worst fears have been realized. Julian Edelman is done for the season.

An MRI on Saturday revealed that Edelman indeed suffered an ACL tear in his right knee during Friday’s preseason win over the Lions, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. The Patriots’ Super Bowl hero will miss the entire 2017 campaign. (NFL.com)

Nerdy Football Analysis: As we expected, Edelman will the season. It’s a big blow to the Patriots and for fantasy owners who’ve already drafted the Patriots slot receiver. In his absence, expect Danny Amendola and Chris Hogan to see an increased workload. Hogan is likely the biggest beneficiary and should reps both in the slot and outside.
