Week 11 Waiver Wire: Projecting Top Fantasy Football Adds and Drops

There were some surprising individual performances in Week 10 of the NFL season, but it hasn’t left many great options to pick up in fantasy football.

Jeremy Langford and Charcandrick West should be added in all leagues, although in most cases, they are already on teams. Michael Floyd certainly can have a big role going forward, but he picked up a hamstring injury late Sunday night. He is also already owned in 60.5 percent of ESPN leagues.

This leaves few options that you must have, but if you need help, here are some quality additions available on the waiver wire in more than 50 percent of leagues on ESPN.

Danny Amendola, WR, New England Patriots

Handcuffs usually refer to running backs, but Danny Amendola could be a top replacement in the New England Patriots offense after Julian Edelman suffered a foot injury, per Adam Schefter of ESPN:

Amendola had a big performance on Sunday with 10 catches for 79 yards on a team-high 11 targets. He also would have had a punt return for a touchdown if he hadn’t tripped on his teammate.

One of his biggest plays of the day came in the final seconds when he picked up nine yards, most of which after the catch, to help set up an easier game-winning field goal for Stephen Gostkowski. The Edelman-esque play earned praise from his quarterback.

“He always makes big plays,” Tom Brady said of Amendola after the game, per Phil Perry of CSNNE.com. “He’s a great player for us, and he always comes up big when we need him. It was a great play by Danny.”

Rob Gronkowski and Brandon LaFell will likely get first priority in the passing game, but there are certainly targets to go around with both Edelman and Dion Lewis out.

Dwayne Harris, WR, New York Giants

The New York Giants are on bye in Week 11, but Dwayne Harris has entered the fantasy radar after reaching double-digit points in standard leagues in three of the last four games.

Against the Patriots, Harris led the team with six catches and ended with 82 yards on nine targets. One of those catches was an impressive touchdown in the corner of the end zone:

Although he is still behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Rueben Randle on the depth chart, Harris has been on the field for at least 60 percent of the Giants’ offensive snaps in each of the last eight games, per Pro Football Focus.

Beckham is still the go-to option, but this is an active enough offense for Harris to produce as the No. 2 or No. 3 target.

Add in the potential for special team touchdowns, and Harris could be a quality fantasy player in the final stretch of the season.

Joique Bell, RB, Detroit Lions

There’s not a lot to love when it comes to free-agent running backs, but Joique Bell is someone who at least has a heavy workload in his offense.

After totaling 56 rushing yards on seven carries in Week 8, Bell rushed for just 17 yards on 14 attempts in Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers. This type of involvement could lead to a bigger day in Week 11 against the Oakland Raiders, who rank near the bottom of the league with 4.7 yards allowed per carry.

Ameer Abdullah is clearly a more dynamic rusher, but the Lions’ coaching staff simply doesn’t trust him in the backfieldsomething that has not changed under new offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter.

As long as Bell continues to get touches, the potential for a strong outing remains.

Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington Redskins

Although he isn’t likely to post a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating every week, Kirk Cousins did provide some hope for a big second half of the season with 324 passing yards and four touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints.

Cousins got off to a huge start, which ESPN’s John Keim credited to both New Orleans’ defense and Washington’s quarterback:

It’s true the Saints defense has been awful lately, allowing a combined 14 passing touchdowns in the last three games. Before you ask, they are on bye in Week 11, so you can’t just pick up whoever is facing them.

Meanwhile, the Redskins have a much tougher upcoming matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

With that said, Cousins did a good job of spreading the ball around to nine different receivers against the Saints, with no one catching more than four passes. With Jordan Reed and DeSean Jackson back in the lineup, the quarterback could end up posting more big games like this one.
