Needed stitches on ankle injury
Vikings WR Adam Thielen needed stitches for a bad cut on his ankle suffered in practice Wednesday, sources say. The initial prognosis was encouraging for his chances of playing Saturday against the #49ers, but they’re still gathering information and will proceed with caution. (NFL Network – Tom Pelissero)
Nerdy Football Analysis: He’s listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report, but a cut on an ankle – even a bad one – is probably a better fate than a sprain. In other words, he should be able to play. A bigger issue is a 49ers defense that is finally getting healthy. Thielen is a strong fantasy option regardless of the opponent, but this probably isn’t the week to bet on him coming through in a big way.
