Bryant could be facing year-long ban

Martavis Bryant is re-signing with the Oakland Raiders, who previously released the veteran receiver on roster cutdown day with concerns about a possible league-imposed suspension.

The deal is for one year, a source told ESPN’s Dan Graziano. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported over the weekend that Bryant is facing a yearlong ban for his latest violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy. The NFL is reviewing the matter and could issue its ruling as early as this week, a source told Schefter. (ESPN)

Nerdy Football Analysis: This is a curious move for a receiver with off-field issues and potentially facing a suspension, but John Gruden has made more than a couple curious moves this off-season. The Raiders were focused on the tight in Week 1 as Jared Cook led the position with 180 receiving while starter Amari Cooper saw 3 targets. Bryant’s not a fantasy option at this point.
