$35 million guaranteed
Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell plans to sign a four-year, $52.5 million contract with the New York Jets, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal includes $35 million guaranteed. Bell sat out the entire 2018 season on the franchise tag. (ESPN)
Nerdy Football Analysis: The 49ers were also interested in Bell’s services but in the end, the Jets offered the most cash. Isaiah Crowell is due $2 million on Friday so it won’t be a shock if he’s released, leaving Bell, Elijah McGuire and Trenton Cannon in the backfield. Bell should be a workhorse in New York and will still be valued as an RB1 in fantasy but may not come with the same upside given the offensive downgrade from Pittsburgh.
