InjuryTop WR dealing with hand concern, RB has sprained toe

Demaryius Thomas finished Sunday’s season opener with seven catches for 60 yards and a sore hand. He said he planned to have his hand X-rayed after injuring it during the game.

C.J. Anderson said he suffered a sprained toe, although he didn’t miss much time. The Broncos’ starting running back slogged through tough runs against the Ravens’ stout defense, gaining 29 yards on 12 carries. Ronnie Hillman led the Broncos with 41 yards on 12 attempts. The Broncos rushed 25 times, with 11 coming on their final scoring drive. (Denver Post)

Nerdy Football Analysis: HC Gary Kubiak called both players “fine”, so owners can probably expect Thomas and Anderson to resume their usual roles against Kansas City on Thursday night. Much has been made about Anderson rough 12-carry, 29-yard outing in Week 1, but it is not as if Ronnie Hillman (12 carries, 41 yards) thrived. Baltimore should be the toughest test the Denver running game should see all season, so unless there is a setback with the toe, Anderson should be a RB1 moving forward.
