No surgery required; status for rest of 2018 uncertain
A recent CT scan on Carson Wentz’s back revealed a fractured vertebra that, if allowed time to rest, would fully heal without further expected issues, sources tell ESPN. There will be a continued evaluation to determine if continuing to play this year will make injury worse. (ESPN – Adam Schefter)
Nerdy Football Analysis: Wentz is not expected to play in Week 15 versus the Rams and will probably be ruled out for the remainder of the season in the likely event the Eagles lose in Los Angeles as it would pretty much seal their playoff fate. Nick Foles was mostly atrocious in two starts earlier this season, throwing for one touchdown and one interception against the Falcons and Bucs. Downgrade all Eagles – including Zach Ertz – and fire up the Rams D/ST wherever possible.
