Advanced NBA GPP Tactics And Strategies (Part 2)

This article is a continuation of last week’s, so if you haven’t read part 1, go back and check it out. Provided you’re now up to speed, it should be clear how to avoid common traps in GPP, which are minutes capped players and overrated punt players. You’ll find people making these mistakes both in both low stakes and high stakes contests, but there are some major differences between those types of contests. Low Stakes ($1-10 buyin) In extremely large field tournaments people will make all sorts of mistakes, which includes rostering players who were scratched right before lock. While you don’t want to go extremely crazy taking all the chalk plays (your lineup may be copied), it’s best to concentrate mainly on the better projected values and then throw in some more fringe type players to diversify. Your main equity in these comes from a large pool of very unaware players, so you don’t have to overthink things too much as long as you’re a bit contrarian. High Stakes ($10+ buyins) Game theory gets a bit trickier here, as the fields are smaller and more reg populated, meaning that an obvious value play may be owned anywhere from 50-80%
